Upcycle by sewing starts again on January 7th 2020 at 9:20am (until noon). Join this group with an experienced textile designer who is donating her talent and her time to guide you with your simple sewing projects. Remember, this is an upcycling activity, so we welcome anyone with ideas to repurpose used fabrics or clothing. It will be a guided do-it-yourself workshop to create simple garments, bags and accessories and encourage recycling. If you have any used fabric that you would like to give a second life to, please drop in as well.
Examples of what you can do: - To hem a pair of existing pants - To adjust the length of a dress - To make a string bag out of used fabric - To make accessories out of used fabric
Simple upcycling project At the workshop, you will get to use a sewing machine, receive hands-on sewing tips with all basic sewing materials. Any additional specific material needs for your project is for you to bring (ex: patterns, zipper, decorative strings etc). This is part of the Zero Waste Seorae, a new initiative created by a small group of Seorae residents motivated by the idea of reducing waste in Seorae Maeul. Space limited to 6. Prior reservation required. Cost: 5000 KRW per session when Delphine is present. Otherwise free when Delphine is absent for anyone who can work a sewing machine and is independent. Fees go to replenish sewing material. |
