This hybrid event was organized on 2022.11.14~16 in partnership with KNTA STOP-TB Partnership KOREA, whose main mandate is to engage in eradicating tuberculosis. This capacity development workshop provided the participants with an opportunity to have a closer look at challenges and opportunities in the two main contexts: good health and well-being, and labor market policy/recovery for ensuring decent work.

Essential Tools for a Peaceful and More Inclusive Society: Skills and Systems for the Local Conflict Management

The three-day hybrid workshop was composed of (1) four experts’ lectures, (2) individual and group capstone activities, (3) a field visit to the Jeju 4 · 3 Peace Park under the theme of local and public conflict management skills and systems. Lectures covered issues including the importance of peaceful and democratic management of public and local conflict, the introduction to conflict management systems and skills with best practices and measures to protect the vulnerable in conflict situations. |

This web-based workshop provided the participants with a learning opportunity where the invited speakers, Dr. Jaesung Kwak(Kyunghee University), Dr. Jisun Jeong(Korea Institute for International Economic Policy), and Dr. Jaeeun Shin(Yonsei University) shared their extensive expertise on methodological diversity of M & E systems, how to apply the revised OECD/DAC evaluation criteria, and the overall trends of M & E in the field of international development.

Jeju International Future Generation Forum

The 1st Jeju International Future Generation Forum(hereinafter “JIFF”) was held in Jeju, Republic of Korea and live-streamed globally, hosted by Jeju Special Self-governing Province Office and co-organized by United Nations Institute for Training And Research(UNITAR) CIFAL Jeju. At the forum, youth participants presented policy proposals and youth empowerment campaign videos on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) Policy Contest, which were highly recognized as a proactive youth engagement in creating positive impact on their local communities. |
Global Citizenship Education

UNITAR CIFAL Jeju provided its Global Citizenship Education (GCED) program to primary and secondary students in Seogwipo-si, Jeju island, to empower them to engage in active roles by providing knowledge on global issues such as poverty, human rights and peace. From January to December, a total of 16 public schools and centers and 1,635 students received Global Citizenship Education in cooperation with the Jeju International Development Cooperation Center(JIDCC) and qualified trainers.

CIFAL Global Network Event: CIFAL Global Network XIX Steering Committee Meeting

The X|X Annual Steering Committee Meeting of the CIFAL Global Network was convened both inperson in Honolulu and virtually on 30 November - 2 December, sponsored by Chaminade University and hosted by CIFAL Honolulu. The Directors of 25 CIFAL centers reviewed past performance and achievements, as well as discussed work plans for the following year and explored synergies amongst CIFAL centers and other units of UNITAR. |
Expert Seminar: Building an M&E Ecosystem for Sustainable Development

The seminar was composed of three sessions under the main theme of “M&E Ecosystem for Sustainable Development”: session 1. M&E system trends in Korea and ways forward, session 2. M&E paradigm and its effectiveness, and the final session with global M&E trends with the case of international organizations - UNFPA, UNDP, GCF and WFP.
