ChatGPT는 이제 질리도록 들으셨나요? 하지만 이제 시작입니다! 블록체인, NFT, 메타버스와 같은 기존의 테크 트렌드 키워드와는 다르게 ChatGPT는 생활 깊숙하게 침투해 체감의 차원이 다른 것 같습니다. 그런데 커지는 영향력 만큼 다양한 업계에서 우려의 목소리를 내며 사용을 제한하고 있습니다. 최근 중국에서 ChatGPT을 막았고 표절을 우려한 많은 교육 현장에서 역시 그런 조치를 취하고 있습니다. 그리고 최근에 JPMorgan Chase (체이스 은행)도 보안을 이유로 사용을 금지했습니다.

1. Don’t Fear The Future

This week JPMorgan Chase became the latest organization to limit the use of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot in the workplace.

미래를 두려워하지 말라.

이번 주 JP모건 체이스는 직장 내 인공지능 챗봇인 ChatGPT의 사용을 제한하는 조직이 되었다.

2. From mundane tasks like writing academic papers all the way to debugging computer programs, ChatGPT’s surprising abilities have already caught the attention of over 100 million users. Believe the hype, we are living through the next industrial revolution.

리포트 작성과 같은 일상적인 작업부터 컴퓨터 프로그램 디버깅에 이르기까지 ChatGPT의 놀라운 능력은 이미 1억 명 이상의 사용자들의 관심을 끌었다. 우리는 지금 차세대 산업 혁명의 시대를 살고 있다.

3. Which brings me back to the news of big corporations putting blocks on using this exciting new tool at work. I have a distinct feeling of deja vous- remember the days when you weren’t allowed to use your own devices at work? We’ve been here before when businesses clamped down on blogging, smartphones, social media and so much more before they became mainstream.

대기업들이 이 흥미진진한 새 도구를 직장에서 사용하는 것을 막고 있다는 소식이 다시 떠올랐다. 직장에서 개인 기기를 사용할 수 없던 시절을 기억하는가? 블로그, 스마트폰, 소셜 미디어 등이 주류로 자리 잡기 전에 기업들이 이를 단속하던 시절을 우리는 이미 경험한 적이 있다.

4. Yes, there are legitimate security concerns, which have led many other companies to take the same decision to restrict ChatGPT.

그렇다, 보안에 대한 우려로 인해 다른 상당수의 회사에서도 ChatGPT를 제한하게 되었다.

5. But consider how many successful startups were born from employees of businesses that didn’t embrace new technologies. It reminds us of a simple lesson: if you don’t create safe spaces for early adopters to experiment inside your organization, they’ll simply build the future without you.

하지만 신기술을 수용하지 않았던 기업의 직원이 만든 성공적인 스타트업이 얼마나 많은지 생각해 보자. 얼리 어답터들이 조직 내에서 실험할 수 있는 안전한 공간을 만들지 않는다면, 그들은 그 조직을 떠나 미래를 만들어 갈 것이다.
